Nkonzi Camp is a classic Zambian bushcamp, combining back-to-nature charm with serious safari comfort. Each of our five walk-in tents features an open-air ensuite bathroom with a traditional hot water bucket shower, flush toilet and sustainably sourced toiletries. Inside are wooden framed beds with crisp white cotton linen, solar-powered charging points and generous dressing areas. Outside each tent is a private outdoor lounge area with restful daybeds and sofas, providing a shady haven to relax in between activities.
At the heart of Nkonzi Camp is a spacious Swahili-style Meru tent, featuring a comfortable lounge, candlelit dining area, and a fully stocked bush bar. Nestling beneath mature riverine trees, this central space invites guests to soak in the romance of a safari under canvas. A small library and collection of boardgames complete the experience, ensuring a serene and convivial stay.
Nkonzi Camp is set among grassy plains and ancient forests in one of least-visited but most rewarding game viewing areas in South Luangwa National Park.
Our walking safaris often begin and end at camp, while our game drives can head north, south, east or west into untouched wildlife habitats. We are able to visit very remote areas of the park on our all-day expeditions that few people ever reach.
As remote and unspoiled as Nkonzi is, it’s still easily accessible. The South Luangwa main gate is a 45-minute drive south, and Mfuwe International Airport is approximately 1.5 hours by road.
