Nkonzi Camp
Located deep inside the South Luangwa National Park, Nkonzi Camp is a unique bush camp offering a remarkable safari experience. Nkonzi is small and friendly, a place where every guest receives personalised attention.
Nkonzi is truly off the beaten track. Here we have only the wildlife for company, and at night time, the Milky Way stretching endlessly across the sky.
Accommodation
Nkonzi Camp is the perfect combination of back to nature charm and serious safari comfort.
Each walk-in safari tent has an open-air ensuite bathroom with classic hot water bucket shower. At the centre of camp stands our atmospheric Swahili Meru tent with relaxed seating, candle-lit dining area and a small bush bar. This is the perfect place to soak in the romance of a safari under canvas.
Location
Nkonzi Camp is set among grassy plains and ancient forests in one of least-visited but most rewarding game viewing areas in South Luangwa National Park.
Our walking safaris often begin and end at camp, while our game drives can head north, south, east or west into untouched wildlife habitats. We are able to visit very remote areas of the park on our all-day expeditions that few people ever reach.
As remote and unspoiled as Nkonzi is, it’s still easily accessible. The South Luangwa main gate is a 45-minute drive south, and Mfuwe International Airport is approximately 1.5 hours by road.
Sustainability
Nkonzi is a seasonal bush camp, open from 1st June to 31st October. Our state of the art solar system produces all the energy we need in camp and during the rainy season (November to April) we pack everything up and leave the area to the animals.
How’s that for a small carbon footprint?!
