From the moment you walk out of your tent at Nkonzi Camp you are on safari inside South Luangwa National Park, one of Africa’s finest wildlife destinations.
Nkonzi Camp is set among grassy plains and pristine savannah woodland. To the north, the Luwi River attracts a vast array of wildlife throughout the year. This is one of least-visited but most rewarding game viewing areas in the South Luangwa National Park. And with zero light pollution and panoramic views of the Milky Way, Nkonzi Camp is perfectly positioned for stargazing.
As remote and unspoiled as Nkonzi is, it’s still easily accessible. The South Luangwa main gate is a 45-minute drive south, and Mfuwe International Airport is approximately 1.5 hours by road.
Our game drives begin and end in camp, and we can drive north, south, east or west, according to where we think the best wildlife sightings may be on any given day. Our drives and walking safaris visit some of the most beautiful and remote areas of the South Luangwa National Park. These are areas that few people ever reach, areas of totally unspoiled wilderness, with only Zambia’s incredible animal and bird life for company.
For guests traveling to Nkonzi Camp by road, our small office near the park entrance offers secure parking for the duration of your stay.
